Our Mission at Columbia Street Roastery (CSR) – Herriott’s Coffee

In some ways, our mission statement is not much different than what many small-batch or micro-roasters say. But for those of us who work at CSR, the points listed below are much more than words on piece of paper. We want our customers to truly enjoy our products on a daily basis. We attempt to produce the very best product we can, whether it’s the coffee we roast and blend or the tea we blend. We realize taste is subjective, yet we use the quality of our own products to judge other products in the industry.

As a company and staff, it is our honest belief that:

  • Those on the staff of CSR have a passion for the coffee and tea product we produce.
  • The passion we have for our products and the type of services we work to provide our customers is shown through our collective and individual behavior.
  • The coffees and teas we produce are among those considered as the “standard” by which others are measured. Our goal is that the quality and service we provide will be the benchmark for others.

On a more individual and personal note, as a company made up of individuals, we continue to work to:

  • Foster a work environment that values teamwork and diversity, where we all treat each other with respect on a continual basis.
  • Expand our knowledge of coffee and tea so we create the best possible products available.
  • Communicate openly and honestly between each other and with our customers.
  • Continue to expand how we can give back to our local community and to those who are less fortunate than we are in those areas where our raw materials are grown.
  • Understand the ability to accomplish these things and maintain an environment where these goals can be a reality. CSR must be able to operate profitably and have the ability to expand its level of profitability. Every action between a vender and customer must be in balance. If it is, both sides can and will benefit, grow, prosper and respect each other.

We are striving to cultivate this fair environment with our customers, whether they are retail or wholesale. When this is accomplished, CSR is able to do more with and for those who live in our service area and where we purchase products, as well as for those who are a part of the team at CSR.
