To clean up scanned concept sketches using Abobe Photoshop

Scanned images always need adjusting before they are ready to present for critique or a client. In this demo, we will cover the basics of color and levels correction in Abobe Photoshop.

Procedure

prepping for the demo

1. download starter files
2. open photoshop file

adjusting the image

1. crop Tool (keyboard shortcut 'C') > rotate image
2. filter > sharpen > unsharp mask
3. image > adjustments > hue/saturation > reduce saturation (-100)
4. image > adjustmests > levels
5. experiment with eye dropper tools and adjusting the sliders
6. open color picker > sample paper color > should read #ffffff
7. crop image (keyboard shortcut 'C')

saving for the web

1. file > export > save for web (jpeg, quality=high, width=1000px)
