It's story time! Cozy up with us to hear Robin Luebs spin tales of pigs in jammies, dancing raccoons, and her rather crooked path from painter and printmaker to author and illustrator.
During her "show and tell," Robin will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the making of picture books — the good, the bad and the wonderful. You'll also be able to see and touch actual story "dummies" — the book illustrator's ultimate planning tool.
Robin currently has published three childrens' books:
- Please Pick Me Up, Mama! (as author/illustrator), a picture book for preschoolers released by Simon & Schuster in 2009. This book also became a Scholastic Book Fair paperback, and will soon be published as a board book.
- How Do You Say Good Night? (as illustrator), a HarperCollins bedtime picture book by Raina Moore, chosen as a Book-of-the-Month Club Main Selection in 2008. It was Robin's first book, and still a favorite.
- Who Said Coo? (as illustrator), written by her twin sister, Deborah Ruddell. This Simon & Schuster release was chosen for the Summer 2010 Kids' Indie Next List. It was also named to the Texas Library Association's 2x2 Reading List for children age two through grade two. Chicago Tribune children's book reviewer, Mary Harris Russell, picked it as her favorite kids' book of 2010. It's now in its third printing.
